No, I didn't go to school,
I'm sick you see and I have an mc for two days off,
I feel horrible and it's like there's some invisible sadist trying to strangle me,
Only problem is that he seems to lack to muscle power to fully constrict my throat.
But rather than rant about all the bad things I'm going through,
I would rather talk about something I found enjoyable.
I came back really late yesterday after Z2H,
Still wasn't feeling too well so I skipped posting and went to bed as fast as I could.
I've been down with a really bad throat infection or something.
Currently regretting saying that I'd rather fall sick than go to school,
Being healthy is way better,
And I'm sure other people affected by the bug that's going around would agree.
Totally had fun at yesterday's Z2H alumni meeting,
I reached there rather early,
About 6pm as opposed to 7pm, the actual meeting time.
Kevin didn't come because he was having a horrible headache or something.
I passed the time by practicing my 16-note beat patterns,
Also had some help for my fill-ins from David,
One of the overseers for the Alumni.
We only spent around 20 minutes for the final discussion for the Midway party on this Saturday,
The rest was all jamming,
Right now I'm currently a substitute drummer,
For the band that will play for the Z2H participants on the final party,
It's on 22 August, 2 days from my birthday,
Hopefully the preparations for it won't class with the coming exams.
Keith surprisingly, also came,
Apparently he's on MC and since he had that time off,
Decided to join in for today's meeting.
He helped me with the drums for the song "Burnin' Up" by the Jonas Brothers,
I managed to get the basic rhythm right but I still need work for my tempo and fill-ins,
But I think my illness also affected my drumming a little.
I love that song even though I want to hate it,
The Jonas Brothers are like,
Disney cash-cows, but it's just so darn catchy,
If only they'd sing songs made for kids,
So we can just mock them and everything would be so simple,
But no, they just had to rock.
Great, now I can't bring myself to hate them.
Disney triumphs once again.
We spent quite a while working out our individual parts,
Also went through some rounds together.
Overall it was not bad for a first try of the song,
I think we sounded decent enough,
It just needs some polishing.
A few rounds of jamming later,
Someone brought up the classic subject of;
"What will our band be called?"
After much "careful" consideration,
The name "Rubberband" came to be.
Played for a while more before we wound down,
By the time we all went home it was about 9:40pm.
Kinda sad I won't be able to make it for Bandage,
The competition Recording 13's taking part in,
I like going for concerts and stuff,
Especially with friends.
I'm waiting to get a new phone,
Originally when I wanted an I phone,
My parents were rather okay with it,
They even seemed more excited about getting the phone than I was,
But I told them that I changed my mind about it,
Reason being that since everyone wanted one or would have one,
It would seem so standardized,
Plus it doesn't really have anything much to help you separate your I phone from the rest,
Especially with the lack of background images.
However, now I've changed my mind again and took back what I said to them.
(Yes I'm sorta fickle minded)
Anyway, if I really wanted my I phone to be different,
It doesn't have to be in it's software,
Heck, I can always stick a skin on it to make it stand out.
