Well, once again I've been caught up in a swirling torrent of opportunities and nonsense.
And thus I couldn't post until now.
Once again sorry for the delay in posting,
But it couldn't really be avoided.
Tuesday - Recess jam session / Ms Chan's birthday / Z2H Alumni, 4/08/09
About the most complicated heading for any given specific day I ever had.
First off, the Recess Jam Session.
Basically here's how it started,
A week back (about 27/7/09),
Derrick and I were like,
"Hey, I need an excuse to bring my guitar"
And so we planned to play the song "Face Down" by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus,
But of course with ample time to memorize and nail the song.
Unfortunately our plans were laid to waste,
Very much thanks to numerous busybodies,
With a thousand and one questions to ask,
As well as an extremely early physics teacher.
Sorry Derrick for making you bring your guitar for nothing,
Maybe next time.
Second point,
The day before when I was talking to Alfred who had just added me,
The subject that Miss Chan's birthday was the following day came up,
And so we started a class conference with the miserably few classmates from 3C that I had in msn,
Anyway, we came up with making a card, I think,
That as well as playing our beloved form teacher a "Happy Birthday" song with the guitar which I already planned to bring.
However, this too failed, part of which I owe to myself.
I was playing the song in 4/4 time,
Which I felt, sounded much more contemporary,
But the version of "Happy Birthday" that most of you are accustomed to singing is in 3/4.
And with these two mindsets put together,
All it took to crash the song was logistics.
At least Ms Chan appreciated the effort we put in.
Oh and thanks to Solomon, Bernard and Cheakmin for the superb cake after school.
Attraction.
The Alumni meeting was kinda crazier than usual.
Especially with Kevin (my human metronome) around.
Either way, I think I'm slowly going deaf,
Meeting by meeting because I'm trying to add "Umph" to the song by playing louder.
On the other hand, my playing of the drums is improving,
Or at least I think it is,
Just need to create more contrast between the chorus and verse,
Rush the tempo less and add more elaborate and preferably graceful fill ins.
So for the first part of the approx 3 hour meeting,
We played our individual songs,
TwitchHand, the "Instructor" band,
Playing "Awakening" by "Switchfoot", awesome song, go look it up.
Coldplace, the "Participant" band,
Playing "About A Girl" by "The Academy Is..."
And for the second part of the meeting,
We practiced and planned our skit.
Unfortunately Kevin doesn't have a part,
I don't know why, but still, sorry Kevin.
Had a mad time, quite a number of inside jokes,
Examples would be stuff like,
"Lets warm ourselves up!",
Center Partings and Exaggerated Sleeping,
You can ask me about them if you want,
But you'd be likely not to laugh unless you experienced it yourself.
Seriously can't wait for the final party on 22nd August,
Sadly I'll still have to worry about my exams,
Honestly I think I will do extremely horribly this time,
I mean, I haven't even started revision and the test is only about a week away.
Gonna have to wake up my idea ASAP.
Wish me luck for CT2.
